BASIC TYPES OF SURVEYS BOUNDARY SURVEYS
LOT STAKE- property corners found or set with flagging and stakes only- no drawing of property
BOUNDARY- property corners found or set with flagging and stakes, includes drawing of property information
IMPROVEMENT- a boundary survey plus the land improvements (houses, fences, ect.)
TITLE- an improvement survey certifying to title (buying or selling a property with a title company? You need this one)
ALTA- improvement survey certifying to ALTA (American Land Title Association) standards

ELEVATION SURVEYS
TOPOGRAPHICAL- elevation survey of the land with contour lines that shows elevation changes (for land designing)
ELEVATION CERTIFICATE- A certificate which states the true mean sea level elevation of a structure or specific location and the elevation of the flood plain (as provided by F.E.M.A. or other local agency) for that location (will need for flood insurance (NFIP) and or other flooding information)

CONSTRUCTION
STAKING- per construction plans
FORM- survey of construction building forms
FINAL- survey of final construction building

DESIGN
PLAT- a boundary survey that creates a subdivison, requres working with city/county officals to get an approval to plat
REPLAT- a boundary of a survey to reconfigure an already platted subdivision. Requires working with city/county officials for approval.
TREE SURVEY- a survey of the location of trees on a property
GLOBAL POSITIONED- a survey that is Geo-referenced to a specified global coordinate system. (for use in projects that will be used in GIS applications, i.e. Google, ArcMap, Aerials)
